I don't know if anyone else has ever has this problem, but as a graphic designer I am always needing to figure out what types of fonts are used in client's logos or promotional materials, and where some of their images come from. There are two online tools that really help me with this detective work.

WhatTheFont

WhatTheFont!

This site allows site visitors to upload an image or plug in the URL of an image that contains the font they are trying to identify. Then they select each character the site shows pictured, and it will tell them what that font is and also give them similar fonts, as well as the URLs of places they can download them.

TinEye Reverse Image Search

This site also allows site visitors to upload an or plug in the URL of an image they are trying to find the original of. The site will search the web and give them the best matched results for locations that image appears.

As an added note: I really like to use this when I see cute clothes on Pinterest and want to know where they are from if they aren't linked!
